Are you working on your fitness?

What up peeps!

I am SO DAMN EXCITED to be bringing you Weight Loss Wednesday on a regular basis. Holla!

I was planning to just do this for myself. It was a way for me to hold myself accountable as I plodded through my weight loss journey. Well, you are better as a community, so I thought that I would put myself out there.

And here. we. are.

So, as I am writing this, I have lost 7 lbs since last Monday. I am watching The Biggest Loser and am just feeling so inspired!

Here’s what has worked for me so far:

  • I’ve been working out every day.
  • I am watching my calories. Every single one.

That’s it.

I am not a fan of watching every calorie. I had a mom who (bless her soul, I miss her dearly) tried to teach me to be anorexic. She was both anorexic andĀ bulimicĀ at one time or another. I have journals where she tried to teach me to eat 300-500 calories a day.

That is not good.

So, counting calories gives me an instant panic attack. Literally.

My husband (who has already lost 50 lbs) is being a HUGE help. He helps me plan my meals and because he watched his calories, he already knows a lot of the foods I like.

My workouts?

It’s all on the Kinect. I have been doing The Biggest Loser Kinect workout and let me tell you – it’s working so far. I will do a full review, but suffice it to say that I am sore (I had trouble sitting to go potty the first 4 days, I was *that* sore) and I have been dropping some weight.

The bad?

My back (I have severe scoliosis) has been beyond sore. I’m talking sit on the couch with a heating pad for an hour sore. I’m talking take ibuprofin around the clock sore. Still, one of my motivations to lose weight and get fit is to prevent having scoliosis surgery.

I also hurt my knee because there are so many damn squats, so that sucks.

But I’ve lost 7 lbs in 8 days. I’ll take that ANY DAY you guys.

So your job is this: blog what you are doing. Blog what works. Blog what isn’t working. Blog your progress. Blog your frustration. But do *something*. Tweet your progress with the #momfit hashtag on Twitter. Let’s build a community of support!

What are you doing to be happier and healthier?

Leave it in the comments! :)

Good for you! 7 pounds is an awesome start! I started trying to lose around Thanksgiving. I lost 11 pounds, but gained 5 back over Christmas. I've managed to lose two of those, so I'm at an 8 pound loss. I'm just reducing portion sizes, cutting out sweets, and I go to a class at the gym for an hour twice a week. That's as much as I can handle at my age and weight right now.

  2. Congrats on the weight loss.
